My role

As project manager for MESA Design Group’s landscape scope, I led the project from design through construction. My responsibilities included design development, planting and material decisions, coordination with the arborist and technical consultants, construction documentation, issue sets, construction-phase coordination, and review of the work as it moved into implementation.

Landscape option A for Churchill Recreation Center.DESIGN / PROCESS

Design challenge

The project required careful coordination around an existing civic facility, mature trees, parking, drainage, lighting, planting performance, and construction documentation.

Landscape option B for Churchill Recreation Center.DESIGN / PROCESS

Approach

The design paired a clear site concept with detailed courtyard planting and alternative studies for landscape and parking. Coordination with technical consultants carried the work into an issue-ready package.

Result

MESA delivered design-development and 100% construction-document packages supported by site photography, planting studies, and hardscape details.

Looking back

Churchill represents the disciplined side of design: holding the concept together through hundreds of coordinated technical decisions.
